| Your journey to better hearing begins with a
comprehensive assessment of your hearing. Testing will be performed by one of
our Hearing Healthcare professionals using ANSI calibrated test equipment.
Hearing testing is available for individuals over the age of 4
years. All
children are evaluated by our certified and licensed audiologist. The typical hearing evaluation includes the following: |
- Otoscopy - A visual inspection of your ear canal and eardrum
- Pure Tone Audiometry - Measuring the softest sounds you can hear at a
variety of pitches
- Speech Reception Threshold - The softest level you can hear speech
- Speech Discrimination - Testing how accurately you hear speech at
amplified levels
- Loudness and Tolerance measurements - Documentation of your personal
loudness tolerance range to ensure that amplification is never uncomfortably loud
