Hearing Protection Devices (HPD's) are rated to
indicate the average amount of sound attenuation. The Noise Reduction Rating, or NRR
should be high enough to reduce the sound you're exposed to below 90 decibels (dB).
For example, if you're using a power tool that produces 110 dB, you should choose
HPD's with an NRR of at least 20 dB.
